Thanks to everyone who's taken part in Hairy Legs over the years

Having run the event for 11 years straight, we have unfortunately had to stop running the event for legal reasons

Unfortunately after our last event a complaint was made to Oxfordshire County Council about the speed at which some participants were riding along the Thames Path.  After months of negotiation with the Council, British Triathlon, our Insurance company and the Police,  the Council  are unable to provide us consent to use the Bridleways we want to – without their consent our Insurance is invalid.

Hairy Legs goal was to create a fabulous event – an event which would be challenging with a relaxed and personable atmosphere.  An event which everyone of all ages in our village and the surrounding area could enjoy and participate.  Any monies which we raised were donated to local charities and to support local children in sporting activities.    As you can imagine we are hugely disappointed that after 11 fantastic years the event cannot continue in its current format.  John and I and the Hairy Legs team have had so much fun in hosting it and we want to thank everyone (and there are hundreds and hundreds of volunteers) who have supported us to stage the event and in particular we want to thank you – Hairy Leggers, Little Leggers and Teenage Kicks who have made this such a wonderful event with a fabulous atmosphere.  Thank you.

The Hairy Legs Challenge was a 5k  run, 20k bike followed by a 5k run all through the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. This is a fun event and all distances are "Hairy Legs" kilometres so very approximate! Entries are open to individuals or teams of either 2 or 3.

We were also be running the ever popular Little Legs a fun challenge for primary school aged children .  Little Legs is either 1 or 2 laps of Sheepcot Field (start/finish for the Hairy Legs Challenge) with a variety of obstacles and challenges.

Teenage Kicks for secondary school aged children ran alongside the adults in the main event for the first 5k run.

In the meantime keep running, pedaling and hoping for sunshine!
